OS2 vs OM3: Which Fiber Mode Do You Need?
OS2 is single-mode 9/125μm for long-distance links (kilometer-class, 1310/1550nm); OM3 is laser-optimized multimode 50/125μm for short high-speed links (10G to 300m, 850nm). Match the fiber mode to your transceivers — they are not interchangeable.
2-Fiber vs 4-Fiber Armored Cables
A duplex (2-fiber) cable carries one bi-directional link. A 4-fiber cable carries two duplex pairs — use both pairs now, or keep one pair as protected spares for the same pull.
Connector & Length Guide: LC, UPC, Meters vs Feet
LC is the small-form connector used by modern SFP/SFP+/QSFP transceivers; UPC polish (blue housing) is the standard for data links. Our listings show meters with feet in parentheses (1m ≈ 3.28ft) — measure the route, add slack, then pick the closest fixed length.
